Good news for small businesses operating in the Maiwar electorate!

The Palaszczuk Government continues its support for small business during this COVID-19 crisis.

I will be speaking at this Forum tonight. It is about sustainability for small businesses and about job protection and job creation!

All small businesses, including those operating in Maiwar, can benefit from these initiatives:

• COVID-19 Jobs Support Loan scheme worth $1 billion including concessional loans of up to $250,000 to eligible businesses (87% went to small businesses).
• Payroll tax relief worth providing up to $950 million, including refunds, payment holidays and deferrals for eligible businesses as well as a tax exemption for JobKeeper payments.
• Small Business COVID-19 Adaption Grants program worth $196 million to assist up to 20,000 small businesses.
• Electricity bill rebates worth $100 million for eligible small businesses.

The Palaszczuk Government has also helped build capability through a range of skills and training programs, most notably:

• free online micro-credentials in areas including digital literacy
• establishing the Queensland Small Business Skills Hub with around 400 online courses in topics such as Leading a Successful Business, Digital Skills and Foundation Business Skills.
